Ngữ danh từ

- Ngữ danh từ thường bao gồm một danh từ chính (head noun) được bổ nghĩa bởi các thành phần bổ nghĩa có thể đứng trước (gọi là pre-modifiers) hoặc sau (gọi là post-modifiers) danh từ.

· Cấu trúc:
Pre-modifiers + head noun + post-modifiers

Pre-modifiers : gồm có:


articles (the, a/an), ví dụ: a book, an umbrella.....

demonstratives (this, that), ví dụ: this book, that car....

numerals (two, five, etc.), ví dụ: two books, five houses......

possessives (my, their, etc.), and quantifiers (some, many, etc.): my computer, some friends, many bananas.........
Post-modifiers: gồm có:


complements, in the form of a prepositional phrase (ví dụ: the student of physics)
a That-clause (ví dụ: the claim that the earth is round)
a relative clause (ví dụ: the house where I live).
